About Azure

Microsoft Azure is a suite of integrated cloud solutions to provide customers with computing, analytics, database, network, mobile services, storage, and more. Any developer or IT professional can be productive with Azure. Built-in tools, precompiled templates, and managed services make it easier to manage enterprise, mobile, Web, and IoT (Internet of Things) applications faster, using the skills and technologies of your day-to-day.

Magic Quadrant for PaaS

Gartner has positioned Microsoft in the Leaders Quadrant in the 2016 Magic Quadrant for business-as-a-service PaaS based on its complete vision and ability to execute in the PaaS marketplace. Gartner defines PaaS as a platform to support the development, deployment, and execution of applications in the cloud. Microsoft is currently the only vendor positioned as a Leader in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Cloud Infrastructure as a Service, Application as a Service Platform, Cloud Storage Services, and Server Virtualization. This validates Microsoft’s strategy to promote power of choice as we deliver industry-leading infrastructure, platform and hybrid solutions.

Azure supports the widest selection of operating systems, programming languages, frameworks, tools, databases, and devices. Run Linux containers with Docker integration; compile applications with JavaScript, Python, .NET, PHP, Java and Node.js; compile backends for iOS, Android, and Windows devices. The Azure cloud service supports the same technologies that millions of developers and IT professionals already count on and trust. Some cloud providers require you to choose between the data center and the cloud. This is not the case with Azure, which seamlessly integrates with your existing IT environment through the largest network of secure and private connections, hybrid storage and database solutions, as well as residence and data encryption capabilities, so your assets stay exactly where you need them. And with Azure Stack, you can bring Azure’s application development and deployment model to your datacenter. Azure hybrid cloud solutions offer the best of both worlds: more IT options, less complexity and lower cost. That’s why it’s one of the best cloud computing services.
